Fishing Report

The water temperatures are dropping the colors are popping and the fall walleye bite is on! We’ve been catching some really nice fish lately and the consistency is there. This time of the year fish start feeding heavily in preparation for winter.

We’ve been catching them mostly live bait fishing in key areas where they stage prior to turn over which hasn’t happened yet on many of the larger lakes and is just beginning on the smaller shallower lakes here in Vilas County.

The recent cold snap we had has the smallmouth starting to move deep, bet the water temperature is still in a range where we will be catching them. The bites are fewer and farther between, but they’ve been the right ones!

As fro musky we are well into sucker season. This time of the year we cast less and pull more live bait. With suckers starting at $13 for an individual bait, we are certainly still casting. Its big rubber season so make sure your casting are is warmed up and ready for some casting!

If you have any questions or are interesting in booking a trip please visit our home page and get in touch!

Tight lines and happy Fall everyone!

Fishing Report

Fishing has been killer the entire month of May and it has continued into June. Water temps have remained cool and we’re having a real spring this year.

Walleye bite is strong and can be found everywhere, shallow to deep. casting has been good for eaters, while the larger fish have been coming on corks with large pieces of bait dangled.

The smallmouth are making their way onto beds with many fish still prespawn, but plenty of bucks found guarding. We suggest that you leave bedding bass along and pursue the bigger prespawn females. Bed fish receive a lot of pressure from fisherman and it affects our fish populations.

Pan fish are shallow, crappie are spawning and the bluegill have pushed up into their prespawn patterns.

Water temps vary from low 60s to around 70 degrees depending on what lake you are fishing.

Fishing Report

High bluebird sky today. Its gonna touch 40, but still cold out this morning.

I haven’t been out in awhile, been getting ready for open water and my trip down south.

That being said, we still have a good amount of ice on all of our lakes, but we are losing ice fast due to high temps.

It’s been getting below freezing during the night this past week, but it’s really going to be warming up the next few days. Be careful around the banks when you’re getting on the water. Use caution and bring a spud bar.

People are still getting out  looking for crappie. All this moving water should be getting them going.

Stay safe out there and good luck crappie hunters!

Fishing Report

Well gamefish season is done until May 1st and just in time. We were going to continue targeting panfish and burbot, but this heatwave we’re having is deteriorating ice conditions fast.

There is a lot of water sitting on top of the ice, making thing a little treacherous. There is still plenty of ice on most lakes, but it’s best to use caution. There are ere. going to be some bad spots out there.

Burbot bite at night has been good on rock humps

Panfish are still relating to deeper grass flats and areas where current is pushing through. Bite is finicky, bring live bait.

Fishing Report

This week we saw a lot of warm weather and the conditions out on the ice are deteriorating. Still plenty of ice, but it’s getting sloppy out there during the day. Should freeze up a little bit at night.

Walleye: Bite is good during prime feeding windows. Fish have been showing up for the last week of the season.

Pike: Tip-ups with live bait are still producing fish. Fish are still on the deeper weed flats.

Panfish: Definitely a meat bite. Fish are finicky. make sure you stop and get bait. Good luck talking fish into eating plastics, but still worth a try if you are die hard artificial.

Get Out there and enjoy the last week!!!

Fishing Report

Walleye: Bite has been strong during key periods of the day around solar and lunar phases.

Pike: Still catching fish on tip-ups with live and dead shiners. Still holding over deeper weed flats. If you find the panfish, you find the pike.

Panfish: Tough right now. Fish have received a lot of pressure this year in popular bodies of water. Your secret spot should still be good.

Overall: Fishing is good to excellent during key windows. Fish have been very finicky overall. Warmer weather coming should be a good last couple weeks before the gamefish season closes
